Consumer Survey to Improve the Home Moving Process

The Conveyancing Association has been working with the Home Buying and Selling Group and the Times to establish the consumer appetite for upfront information and whether the home moving public would be prepared to pay for it.

It is obviously important to get as broad and complete response to our survey as possible so please, therefore, do send out the survey to your colleagues, contacts and both past & current clients to complete.

The survey can be accessed below (please note the survey will close on Tuesday 20th July 2021):

Thank you in advance for your assistance and support at such a busy time, we hope you use the opportunity to have your say!

Leasehold makes it into the Queen’s Speech 2021

After 6 years of CA campaigning, we are delighted to finally see a leasehold reform bill referenced in the Queen’s Speech.

The Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Bill has been announced to do away with anything other than peppercorn ground rents.  We will continue to lobby government to include in the bill other pre-announced government promises such as maximum LPE1 fees of £200 and delivery of the information within 10 working days, and the Law Commission’s recommendations on enfranchisement and lease extension premiums.

Also in the Queen’s Speech were Building Safety which will continue to improve external wall safety requirements and renter’s reforms.
