Conveyancing Association and Parkinson’s UK
We are delighted to be partnered with Parkinson’s UK, the charity dedicated to supporting everyone affected by Parkinson’s and funding vital research to find a cure, with all funds raised going towards the Parkinson’s UK Nurse Appeal – Great Care, Everywhere.
This year 123,000 children will wake up homeless. 144 children will go missing or run away from home each day. Children experiencing domestic violence and abuse will leave home to escape, often ending up in a new area with no one to turn to for help.
The Children’s Society’s specialist teams are there to support every child, providing one-to-one support so that all children can be helped to feel safe and grow up in a loving and secure home.
The Conveyancing Association’s partnership with The Children’s Society will help to ensure that together we can build safer and positive homes for all children.

Show your support
Throughout our partnership, Parkinson’s UK will join Conveyancing Association events to share more about the vital work they are doing to support people affected by Parkinson’s and to fund ground breaking research. We encourage all our members to help raise awareness of Parkinson’s and generously support the Parkinson’s UK Nurse Appeal – Great Care, Everywhere.
As well as donating at our regular programme of events, you can also donate via the dedicated Nurse’s Appeal page on the Parkinson’s UK website here.

About Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s is a complex brain condition that gets worse over time. Affecting 166,000 people in the UK, it has more than 40 symptoms, from tremor and pain to anxiety, and there is currently no cure. In the UK today, someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes and by 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.
For information and support, visit parkinsons.org.uk or call the charity’s free, confidential helpline on 0808 800 0303.
Nurse Appeal: Fund great care
There are fewer than 400 Parkinson’s nurses across the UK, and 30% could retire before 2030. Since 1996, Parkinson’s UK has invested more than £15 million into funding, training and supporting Parkinson’s nurses. The Parkinson’s UK Nurse Appeal aims to raise £9 million in 3 years and increase the Parkinson’s specialist workforce.
This could fund:
25 Parkinson’s nurses, giving 7,500 more people access to a specialist nurse and giving existing nurses more time to support those they already care for
30 allied health professionals, giving 12,000 more people expert care for specific symptoms
6 clinical fellowships to support the brightest and best doctors to become the future leaders of neurology and geriatrics services at a local and national level, making sure people with Parkinson’s get the best care
Case Study: Meet Shafaq
Shafaq was diagnosed when she was 40, she was unable to get access to a Parkinson’s nurse due to local availability, her nearest nurse would have been in another county and unable to easily communicate with her consultant.
“When I was initially diagnosed I felt like I was missing an important cog in my care package – I felt a bit directionless. I honestly missed not having a Parkinson’s nurse, and that was without ever having had one.”
This year, Shafaq has finally been able to see a Parkinson’s nurse.
“When I first met my Parkinson’s nurse, she listened and she seemed to know what I was going to say before I even said it sometimes. She advised me about a lot of things that could help me.
It is so important that everyone has a Parkinson’s nurse. “
