David has spent ~20 years running ‘Commercial functions’ in a variety of banking models both in the UK and overseas. He joined Santander as Head of Homes in October 2024 where he is responsible for the management of the entire (~£170bn) mortgage portfolio at Santander UK. This encompasses management of products, sales, service and the transformation in this value chain, as well as the leadership of ~1,000 colleagues.
He is also responsible for the Cater Allen Private Bank, and for the Insurance and Investment businesses.
Prior to Santander was Chief Commercial Officer at Yorkshire Building Society (~8th largest lender in the UK), where he was an Executive Director running Products, Marketing and Distribution.
