It has been an eventful couple of months across many areas of the economy and the housing market which will have a direct impact on CA members. The Government finally published its roadmap to improving the home buying and selling process, and there was much in the policy direction to welcome. At the start of July the CA held its All-Member meetings, and a number of key areas were explored that you can follow in pieces below. Notable ones are articles from Beth Rudolf on requisitions and QES.
Finally, of course, we have to mention the new Prime Minister, his new Government team, and the fact that Angela Rayner is back at MHCLG, with Matthew Pennycook remaining as Minister for housing and planning. Interestingly, Pennycook’s role gets him a seat at the Cabinet, which perhaps tells us that this is likely to be a more important area for the Government under Andy Burnham. We await to see what this means in terms of policy.
