As we move into 2026, I would like to start by welcoming all our members, affiliates, partners and supporters to what is already shaping up to be a very important year for the Conveyancing Association (CA).

The early months of any year are always focused on one thing above all else: our Annual Conference, sponsored by Landmark Information Group, and our Charity Dinner. This year feels different. Not only because of what is happening across the property market, but because the CA will also be marking our 25th anniversary.

That milestone gives us a chance to reflect on how far the sector has come, and on the role the CA has played since our launch. It also sharpens our focus on what comes next, at a time when reform, regulation and rising expectations are firmly back on the agenda.

Our first two-day annual conference

For the first time, the CA Annual Conference will effectively take place over two days, on 11th and 12th February 2026. We are also moving to a new venue, The Belfry Hotel & Resort.

This is a new location for the CA and, in many ways, a new venue in its own right, with major facilities only opened last year. It gives us the space and setting to do something a little different.

The first day, Wednesday 11th February, will be about bringing people together. It will begin with a golf day followed by afternoon tea. This is designed to give members, affiliates, sponsors and guests time to talk, share views and reconnect ahead of the main conference day.

A full agenda

The full Conference itself takes place on Wednesday 12 February. As ever, the focus is on issues that matter to conveyancers and to those who work closely with them. We have a strong line-up of speakers and panels, drawing on views from across the market.

Sessions will look at the outlook for the housing market, the pressures firms continue to face, and how collaboration across the home buying and selling process can lead to better results for clients. You can view the full agenda and speaker list here, and I would encourage all attendees to take a look ahead of the event.

We are also pleased to be welcoming a wide range of Affiliate members and sponsors, both long-standing supporters of the CA and those who have joined more recently. Their involvement reflects the strength of the CA community and the shared interest in improving how the process works in practice.

A timely conference for a changing market

This conference comes at an important point. The Government has now issued two consultations covering home buying and selling reform and the use of material information. These proposals go to the heart of how transactions are carried out and what consumers can expect at each stage.

Alongside this, the Ministry of Justice has published its consultation on interest on lawyers’ client accounts. The CA is just finalising our response, setting out our concerns and the potential impact on conveyancing firms and their clients. This is clearly an area that will continue to attract attention, and I expect it will feature in discussions at the Conference.

Our aim with this conference is not simply to talk about change, but to help shape it. We want to ensure the views and experience of conveyancers are heard, and that reform leads to better outcomes without creating new risks or costs elsewhere in the system.

After the Conference, we will hold our Charity Dinner, which this year will be in aid of Parkinson’s UK. Supporting good causes has always mattered to the CA, and we are proud to be raising funds and awareness through this event.

Looking forward to seeing you

The 2026 Annual Conference & Charity Dinner is a chance to mark 25 years of the CA, but it is also about looking ahead. By bringing together members, affiliates, sponsors and speakers over two days, we hope to create space for honest discussion, shared learning and stronger working relationships.

I very much look forward to welcoming you to The Belfry in two weeks, and to what I believe will be a very worthwhile and thought-provoking couple of days.
