The year has started off with something of a bang in terms of ongoing activity…
March has been a month of CA responses, from the start when the Association issued its objections to the HMRC proposed SDLT changes which would require firms to register as ‘tax advisers’ to two consultation responses covering estate management reform.
These responses were garnered from discussions with membership and Exec members in order to understand and illustrate what these proposals would mean for firms at the coalface but also what they would mean in a wider context.
With many of the measures within the Renters’ Rights Act due to come into force in May, Beth Rudolf’s article in Mortgage Solutions is well worth a read to understand the implications for conveyancers and mortgage brokers, while we also have articles from Beth covering first-time buyers and commonhold.
Finally, the CA was able to welcome a new Affiliate member, Move Reports, who joined the Association this month. Further details below.
