Our News Coverage | November 2016
November has been a major month for the CA as we launched our White Paper on ‘Modernising the Home Buying Process’ – it garnered significant industry coverage and interest with some rather ‘frank’ views exchanged via various comment sections. Whether you agree with the solutions we outline in the paper or not, we intended the White Paper to kick-start debate about a process which we believe can be improved, not just via some blue-sky thinking but tangible and implementable changes.
We, of course, will be discussing the White Paper at our Annual Conference and will be feeding back on the debate that takes place throughout the rest of December. Our intention is to amend and update the White Paper in the new year and begin the process of turning our suggested improvements into reality.
The other major event of the month was the Autumn Statement – buried amongst all the detail was the news that the Government will not be pursuing the privatisation of the Land Registry. This was good news and followed our own lobbying to achieve this aim and our response to the consultation.
